Decadent Teddy Graham S'mores Hot Chocolate

This S'mores Hot chocolate drink is the reason I switched from just buying hot chocolate by the box. This recipe was too easy and too delicious to even think about using those packets. I came up with it when I was sipping said packet and was completely underwhelmed by the “marshmallows” in my drink. There weren’t any actual marshmallows. Just these little tiny white pebbles they were trying to pass off as the real thing. That’s when I realized I needed to upgrade my hot chocolate experience. So I went straight to Pinterest.
There are SO MANY ways to make hot chocolate but I couldn’t find anything on making a S’mores style hot chocolate. Why was I looking for this particular Style of hot chocolate? Simple. I love S’mores. I was working on another blog post talking about my love for them and the two idea’s collided in my mind. Next thing I know I had to have them, but not separate. Together, like they were in my mind.
As soon as I made it I was like “Damn, that’s good. I mean like, really good.” My wife was all like, Wow, that is good,” and I was like “I know, right?” and she was like —
…. well, you get it. I immediately knew what I had to do. I had to share it with my closest friends — including You!
Before we jump in, you should know there are 2 ways to make this concoction. The way I’m about to show you, and the way I’m about to show you… plus alcohol. The first time I made it without any booze in it. In the photos shown, I substituted one of the cups of milk for one cup of Baileys Irish Cream and it warmed my heart both literally and figuratively. The word “delicious” doesn’t even do it justice.
Decadent Teddy Graham S'mores Hot Chocolate
Picture yourself in your backyard on a brisk autumn day. You're sitting around a bonfire with friends and family, making s'mores. I don’t know about you but I like to drink hot chocolate with mine. In my opinion, this drink seamlessly infuses the two to create the perfect drink and dessert.
Makes: 6 Servings
Prep time:
- 4 cups Milk*
- ⅓ cup Water
- ½ cup Sugar
- ¼ cup Cocoa Powder
- ½ tsp. Vanilla
- 1 cup of marshmallows
- 1 box of Teddy Grahams
- 1 Hershey candy bar
- 2 cups Whipped cream
- 1 box of Teddy Grahams
- 1 cup of chocolate syrup
- Combine water, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a saucepan.
- Stir for two minutes while bringing to a boil.
- Stir in milk and vanilla (do not allow mixture to return to a boil).
- Pour chocolate syrup into a saucer and dip the rim of your mug into the syrup. Allow it to dry.
- Pour hot chocolate into mug and add whipped cream and marshmallows.
- Using a potato peeler, shave the chocolate bar over the top of the whipped cream and marshmallows.
- Line the rim of your mug with Teddy Grahams or place them wherever you see fit.
- Enjoy!
