The Best Small Bathroom Remodel Inspiration of 2020
Hello, hello favorite friends — it’s Tyna here! Since completing our guest room renovations we figured the guest bathroom should be our next project. I’ve been pinning so many bathroom ideas on Pinterest and I’ve found tons of beautiful photos and inspiration. After doing plenty of research to finalize my design and color scheme, I was able to create a mood board for the design idea and I am so excited to share — Check it out below!
The idea is to create and modern and classic guest bathroom design for our guest to enjoy. I love bathrooms with wall paneling whether it be a wainscoting or bead board because it creates character in the room. I chose to go with darker color and if you know me you know I’m obsessed with anything black. It’s super sexy, sleek, and versatile. Right now, I’m really digging Behr’s Cracked Pepper for the wall color. It's a dark charcoal color and in a matte finish that I’ve used on a previous client project that turned out absolutely gorgeous.
Here are a few awesome bathroom designs I found on Pinterest!
Dave loves the idea of having a wood trim above the wall panels and possibly adding small shelves there too! It’s a great idea and I can’t wait to see the turn out. For the bathroom floor tile, we choose a beautiful herringbone tile. I mean, what can I say, I am a FAN of herringbone! If you missed the Easy DIY Herringbone Feature Wall we created for the Guest Room, you can click here for that DIY. The tile is lighter in color which gives a nice contrast against the black panel wall.
Our guest bathroom is pretty narrow in size so I wanted to maximize the space as much as possible. It currently has a pedestal sink that I definitely want to switch out to install a wall-mounted sink. Even though a vanity would be an awesome way to create additional storage in the bathroom, I think the addition of floating shelves over the bathroom toilet and the use baskets to keep any toiletries in it would be a great storage alternative.
We’ve decided to pretty much gut out the shower and I am too excited for that day to come! Right now, there is a shower wall surround which I HATE because it's not appealing to the eye and looks super cheap. We plan on removing that entire surround and adding long, textured, vertical subway tile instead.
There is also a small window that's being covered by the wall surround, so hopefully we can access it and utilize it after removing the current surround! Mixed metals and finishes are another way to add depth to a room. I love the idea of pairing the beautiful brushed brass mirror with modern chrome finishes.
EEK! I cannot wait to start on our small bathroom remodel project!
